A Message From The Executive Director…
|
2024 was a year of exceptional transformation for the Reading Science Center, but it was only a glimpse of the exciting changes to come in 2025! We launched our first Celebrate Science Day with our partners at Drexel University College of Medicine in April 2024, brought in new exhibits thanks to a move by The Da Vinci Science Center, and received a newly built exhibit from our friends at Carpenter Technology in September. The Reading Science Center museum floor is practically a new 7,000 square foot space from a year ago.
We have changed our open hours - no longer open on Tuesdays - but rather Mondays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm; last entry at 3pm. This allows us to better serve families by being open on school holidays and in-service days.
A new feature on the third Monday of each month will be “Science Storytime.” Included with the price of admission, at 10:30 a.m. our Museum Assistant, Microscope Meg, will read a science related book, then follow the reading with a themed hands-on activity. So cool! Come for the story and stay for the whole day.
And finally in 2025, what so many of you have been waiting for…..Reading Science Camp! The week of July 28th to August 1st will be packed with science fun from 9am to 1pm right here at the Reading Science Center. We will accept only 25 children, ages 8 to 11, so put the dates on your calendar and look for more details shortly.
Throughout this newsletter, you will read about ways you can be part of the excitement! You'll find our full 2025 calendar of events, learning programs, plans for the Celebrate Science Day sequel (May the Force Be With You!), our Members-Only Party on February 16th, and so much more. If you know someone who would like to follow our news, please forward this newsletter to them and encourage them to sign up at this link: |
If you are a funder and would like to know more about how to support our work, please contact me directly at ralia.vardaxis@rdgsci.org. I would be pleased to discuss how to become a partner! |
